Shoppers have been urged to check their kitchen cupboards, after a potato product was found to put those with allergies at risk.<\/p>\n

Supermarket Aldi<\/a> has issued an urgent recall<\/a> on Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter with the pack size 385g.<\/p>\n

This is because it contains milk not mentioned on the label\u2014which poses a possible risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The food safety watchdog has told the supermarket to contact the relevant allergy organisations to inform their members.<\/p>\n

Customers are asked to return the product to their Aldi store where they will receive a full refund.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Aldi said: ‘We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.’<\/p>\n

Regulator the Food Standards Agency, which publishes the alerts, issues recalls when problems are spotted with food that could be potentially harmful to consumers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They have warned those who have bought the product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, not to eat it.<\/p>\n

Aldi has issued an urgent recall for Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter<\/p>\n

This recall includes Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter products with date codes up to and including July 1, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The supermarket has also issued a ‘point-of-sale notice its customers’, which explains the recall and instructs shoppers on what to do next.<\/p>\n

‘These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product,’ said the regulator.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While cow’s milk allergy is less common in older children and adults, it affects about one in 50 infants in the UK, according to the NHS.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It came hours after a popular Chinese chilli sauce was recalled<\/a>, after it was found to contain undeclared peanuts\u2014posing a potentially fatal risk to allergy sufferers.<\/p>\n

Laoganma Black Bean Chilli Sauce, sold in 280g jars, is a cult favourite among food lovers and widely available in Asian supermarkets, independent grocers and online at retailers including Yau Brothers, Longdan and Japan Centre.<\/p>\n

It is also stocked by some major supermarkets, including Sainsbury’s, where it features in the world foods aisle.<\/p>\n

Distributor Fortune Foods Ltd has issued a recall of batch code 18232 with a best-before date of 8 March 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Laoganma Black Bean Chilli Sauce has been urgently recalled after it was found to contain undeclared peanuts<\/p>\n

In a statement, the firm said the issue was ‘isolated’ and ‘not all units are affected’, but warned: ‘Individuals with a peanut allergy may risk a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.’<\/p>\n

It added: ‘We deeply regret this incident and are taking immediate steps to strengthen our labelling and quality control procedures to prevent a recurrence.<\/p>\n

In an alert issued last night the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said; ‘If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat it.<\/p>\n

‘Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.’<\/p>\n
