It has suggested that it &#8220;not likely&#8221; to be widespread across the country as we saw last week, with the south east of England set to benefit from the highest temperatures this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In Wales, forecasters have said that whilst we will see spells of rain, the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/wales-weather\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">weather<\/a> will become &#8220;increasingly warm and feeling rather humid&#8221; at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Oli Claydon, from the Met Office, said: &#8220;Friday will see a maximum of 27\u00b0C again as the high, the showers will clear away to the northeast, with local drizzle in parts of the south west and Wales through the day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The south east of England looks set to be the place with the best temperatures with Mr Claydon stating it &#8220;could be looking at a short-lived localised heatwave&#8221;, potentially reaching 29\u00b0C on Saturday and 30\u00b0C on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Met Office confirmed one or two areas in Wales, including Cardiff, entered a heatwave last Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Friday was the hottest day of the year so far in Wales with highs of 30.8\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">An official heatwave is declared when particular UK regions experience set temperatures for three days straight, ranging from thresholds of 25\u00b0C to 28\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">But Mr Claydon added: &#8220;When we had the warm spell last week it was much more widespread, we&#8217;re not likely to see that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_rbp_mai170625weather39654JPG.jpg\" alt=\"Roath Park \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Roath Park in the sunshine(Image: WalesOnline\/Rob Browne)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A forecast for Wales from Friday to Sunday reads: &#8220;Mainly cloudy with occasional spells of rain, but some drier interludes too, especially by Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Breezy on Friday with winds easing over the weekend. Increasingly warm and feeling rather humid.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">On Saturday, at 4pm, temperatures rise to 24\u00b0C in Monmouth, 215\u00b0C in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/cardiff\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Cardiff<\/a>, Cardigan, Builth Wells and Newtown and 19\u00b0C in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/swansea\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Swansea<\/a> and Merthyr Tydfil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It will be warmer at the same time on Sunday, as temperatures rise to 25\u00b0C in Monmouth, 23\u00b0C in Cardiff and Newtown, and 22\u00b0C in Builth Wells.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A heatwave is recorded when an area reaches a certain temperature for three consecutive days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Get daily breaking news updates on your phone by joining <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/chat.whatsapp.com\/KLfwXOh37d73cWPw0KYD9Q\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">our WhatsApp community here<\/a>.
