According to WTOL,<\/a> Kathy Seeman of Middleton Township, Ohio said she lost her internet and cable service for more than a week after first experiencing repeated outages on June 15.<\/p>\nShe told the outlet that she relies on internet access due to working from home.<\/p>\n
“We couldn’t get the TV to start, and my app said we were in an outage. We unplugged, rebooted, it would come up, go down, come up, go down,” Seeman said when speaking to reporters with WTOL.<\/p>\n
After struggling with the issue for multiple days, Seeman said she contacted Spectrum Internet to schedule a technician to come out and investigate. What the investigation turned up left Seeman stunned, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n
“‘I’m not making this up. The reason you’re having problems is because someone shot up our main power line with a shotgun,'” Seeman told reporters with WTOL.<\/p>\n
Spectrum issued the following statement to WTOL regarding the issue:<\/p>\n
“A line of cable going through a heavily wooded area was recently impacted by several shotgun blasts. Our teams responded quickly by placing a temporary cable where they could until a full replacement could be requested and installed.”<\/p>\n
A time and location was not provided by Spectrum, but the company told WTOL that it appeared the outage was isolated to one customer. <\/p>\n
When speaking to the station, Seeman said that she believes it may have impacted others, however.<\/p>\n
“The technician told me, ‘It’s not just you, we’ve had complaints from other people,'” Seeman told the outlet, adding that Spectrum’s lack of communication left her frustrated.<\/p>\n
“It’s not OK to lose service four or five days in a row. Why didn\u2019t somebody tell me this was what was going on?” Seeman said when speaking to the outlet.<\/p>\n
