Emergency services<\/a> were called to the scene.<\/p>\n Police have now arrested and charged a suspect in relation to the alleged incident.<\/p>\n Several witnesses reported the alleged incident to police.<\/p>\n A Police Scotland<\/a> spokesperson said: \u201cAround 6.05pm on Friday, 11 April, we received a report of a serious assault on Calton Hill in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n \u201cA 24-year-old man was taken to the Royal<\/a> Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.<\/p>\n \u201cOfficers attended and a 16-year-old male youth was arrested and charged and released to appear in court on a later date.\u201d<\/p>\n In an unrelated incident, four innocent youths were hospitalised<\/a> after they were set upon by a gang of 30 balaclava-clad teens in a horrific, bloody attack.<\/p>\n The masked thugs slashed one of the lads in the face and stabbed another in the shoulder during the unprovoked\u00a0assault.<\/a><\/p>\n One of the victims needed urgent\u00a0surgery<\/a>\u00a0after his arm was shattered in two places.<\/p>\n Cops<\/a>\u00a0reckon it was lucky that no one was killed in the frenzied attack and have vowed to track down everyone who was involved.<\/p>\n Police Scotland body worn cameras roll out across the country<\/p>\n Uniformed officers have now increased their patrols at Pettycur beach in Kinghorn,\u00a0Fife.<\/a><\/p>\n The distraught mum of one of the victims said: \u201cThey are all out of danger but what happened is absolutely unbelievable.<\/p>\n \u201cThey are innocent boys who did nothing wrong. They shouldn\u2019t have to go through this and have their lives put in danger.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople need to know their children are not safe anymore. They need to have the attitude that this could happen to anyone else\u2019s children tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n
