{"id":213067,"date":"2025-06-25T12:01:15","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T12:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/213067\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T12:01:15","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T12:01:15","slug":"uk-tourists-travelling-to-france-warned-over-severe-disruption-by-foreign-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/213067\/","title":{"rendered":"UK tourists travelling to France warned over &#8216;severe disruption&#8217; by Foreign Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UK tourists using the Eurostar service to and from France today have been warned over &#8216;severe disruption&#8217;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_JS372003948.jpg\" alt=\"Eurostar e320 high-speed train \" loading=\"eager\"  \/>UK tourists using the Eurostar service to and from France today have been warned over &#8216;severe disruption'(Image: Gareth Fuller\/PA Wire)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">UK tourists in France have been issued a Foreign Office warning over &#8216;severe disruption&#8217; today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The FCDO published an update regarding disruption for those taking the Eurostar to and from France over the course of June 25, stressing how some services will be cancelled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The problems forecast throughout today can be linked to a &#8220;cable theft&#8221; near to Lille.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE: <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/travel\/uk-tourists-france-abide-new-31888076\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">UK tourists in France to abide by new rule or face hefty fine<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Foreign Office&#8217;s announcement read: &#8220;Eurostar services to and from France will be severely disrupted today (25 June) with some services cancelled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Check your operator\u2019s advice before travelling, including where you are taking connecting trains.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Eurostar&#8217;s webpage has also advised individuals over how busy the stations in the country will be today, advising travellers to &#8220;cancel or postpone&#8221; their trip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Its statement read: &#8220;Due to a cable theft near Lille Europe, our trains to\/from London are likely to be subject to severe delays and last-minute cancellations. Our stations are very busy, and we advise you to cancel or postpone your trip.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Already this morning, the website has shown five cancellations between London and Paris up until midday today, with some journeys forecast to be axed through to July 16.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The news updates highlighted the 4.01pm train from London to Paris as a cancelled train every day Tuesday and Wednesday for the next three weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Eurostar explained: &#8220;Due to operational issues between 20\/05\/2025 and 16\/07\/2025, your train is cancelled.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Another train earmarked for cancellation because of &#8220;planned engineering works,&#8221; is the 12.32pm from Paris to London on select dates for the next three weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">If your train has been impacted due to any of the issues above, Eurostar has recommended opting for one of three options:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">&#8220;Exchange your booking for free to travel in the same travel class at a different date. It only takes a minute to rearrange your trip.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">&#8220;Cancel your booking and claim an e-voucher. You will have 12 months from the date of your disrupted journey to redeem it on eurostar.com.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">&#8220;Cancel your booking and get a refund. You\u2019ll receive a refund for the value of your ticket but not for any booking or exchange fees.
