{"id":213111,"date":"2025-06-25T12:23:11","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T12:23:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/213111\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T12:23:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T12:23:11","slug":"oxfordshire-new-cycling-champion-calls-for-publics-thoughts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/213111\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxfordshire new cycling champion calls for public&#8217;s thoughts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Councillor Emily Kerr, who represents Oxford\u2019s Bartlemas division, said she is &#8220;honoured&#8221; to take on the role.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  She said: \u201cAs a local resident in the vibrant city of Oxford, I am proud to have great experience in walking and cycling in urban areas, and I am eager to learn more about what matters most for those travelling throughout our beautiful county and in our most rural areas.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;I\u2019m a huge supporter of making improvements to help us all get around more easily without needing to rely on driving a car.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;I\u2019d love people to get in touch with me to share their thoughts for the best active travel opportunities.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Councillor Kerr&#8217;s role includes taking part in regular road safety working groups and workshops in both rural and urban areas.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  She succeeds Damian Haywood in the post, which has previously been held by Councillor Dan Levy and Councillor Andrew Gant.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Councillor Gant, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oxfordshire.gov.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Oxfordshire County Council<\/a>\u2019s cabinet member for transport management, said: &#8220;I\u2019d like to thank Damian Haywood for all the valuable work he did while in this post, and I am looking forward to working with Councillor Kerr in the future.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Her enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for the issues shine through and I am sure she will be holding our feet to the fire on all matters related to active travel.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Councillor Emily Kerr, who represents Oxford\u2019s Bartlemas division, said she is &#8220;honoured&#8221; to take on the role.
