Latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip as Anthony Elanga’s future could hand United a welcome financial boostAnthony Elanga<\/p>\n

Manchester United<\/a> have been given fresh hope that they could still receive an unexpected transfer windfall this summer.<\/p>\n

United look set to have a busy transfer window ahead of Ruben Amorim’s <\/a>first full season as the club’s head coach. One new signing has already been confirmed with Matheus Cunha<\/a> completing a \u00a362.5million transfer from Wolves earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

While much of the attention will be on new signings moving to Old Trafford<\/a> this summer, United will also be looking to raise funds through player sales.<\/p>\n

Some members of the United squad who could leave the club include Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho. However, it’s not just current members of the United squad who could see the club handed a financial boost.<\/p>\n

Anthony Elanga left United in the summer of 2023 to complete a \u00a315million move to Nottingham Forest. Two years later and the Sweden international could be on the move again, which would benefit United.<\/p>\n

Chronicle Live<\/a> reported on Tuesday that Newcastle have seen their opening offer worth \u00a345million rejected by Forest for Elanga. An update has since emerged on Wednesday claiming that the Magpies are prepared to submit a second offer for the former United star, who is thought to be valued at around \u00a360million.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if Newcastle and Forest will manage to agree a fee for Elanga this summer. If that was to happen, United would receive a welcome financial windfall.<\/p>\n

As part of the deal that saw Elanga move to the City Ground two years ago, United included a sell-on clause that would see them receive part of any future fee should the forward move clubs. Whether it would be a percentage of the total fee or profit remains to be seen.<\/p>\n

Since leaving Old Trafford, Elanga has scored 11 goals and provided 21 assists in 82 appearances for Forest.<\/p>\n
