extradited from Germany to Northern Ireland was remanded into custody today charged with human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"beltel-ebe0ecc6_root beltel-ebe0ecc6_paragraph beltel-300db776_none beltel-91174671_primary beltel-1d70522a_marginbottom5 beltel-1d70522a_margintop0 beltel-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Adrian Vasile Popescu (40) is also accused of being involved in transferring nearly \u00a35,000 worth of criminal property.<\/p>\n<p class=\"beltel-ebe0ecc6_root beltel-ebe0ecc6_paragraph beltel-300db776_none beltel-91174671_primary beltel-1d70522a_marginbottom5 beltel-1d70522a_margintop0 beltel-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Popescu, with a previous address at Damascus Street in Belfast, was detained at Forstinning near Munich last month under an international arrest warrant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"beltel-ebe0ecc6_root beltel-ebe0ecc6_paragraph beltel-300db776_none beltel-91174671_primary beltel-1d70522a_marginbottom5 beltel-1d70522a_margintop0 beltel-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Police have been seeking the Romanian national to stand trial for alleged offences dating back to October 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"beltel-ebe0ecc6_root beltel-ebe0ecc6_paragraph beltel-300db776_none beltel-91174671_primary beltel-1d70522a_marginbottom5 beltel-1d70522a_margintop0 beltel-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">He appeared at Belfast Magistrates\u2019 Court today after the extradition process was completed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Popescu faces a charge of trafficking a woman with a view to her exploitation, and two counts of aiding and abetting the transfer of criminal property to the value of \u00a34,735.<\/p>\n<p class=\"beltel-ebe0ecc6_root beltel-ebe0ecc6_paragraph beltel-300db776_none beltel-91174671_primary beltel-1d70522a_marginbottom5 beltel-1d70522a_margintop0 beltel-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Defence solicitor Karl McKenna told the court his client was not seeking bail because no suitable address is available.<\/p>\n<p class=\"beltel-ebe0ecc6_root beltel-ebe0ecc6_paragraph beltel-300db776_none beltel-91174671_primary beltel-1d70522a_marginbottom5 beltel-1d70522a_margintop0 beltel-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Remanding Popescu in custody until July 22, District Judge Steven Keown indicated that a date for preliminary enquiry could be listed at that
