We\u2019re not sure who decided this Friday was \u2018National Picky Bits Day\u2019, but who doesn\u2019t love the chance to tuck into all their favourite flavours and tastiest treat foods all in one sitting?!<\/p>\n

Palm Court Bar at Municipal Hotel & Spa<\/strong>

You can enjoy the luxurious Miami-style surroundings in the central atrium of this Dale Street hotel, and a gorgeous menu which has got loads of delicious nibbles \u2013 including Moroccan-style hummus with toasted pitta bread and warm focaccia with honey and truffle butter melt \u2013 and small plates, like salt & pepper squid with aioli, Korean sesame crispy chicken, and \u2018Scouse\u2019 locally-reared lamb croquettes.<\/p>\n

Start your meal the authentic Italian way at this chic Castle Street restaurant or just enjoy a sumptuous sharing platter with a glass of wine or a classic cocktail. We\u2019re loving its San Carlo Antipasto with a large platter of the best antipasto, and its Frittura di Pesce Portofino, with deep fried calamari, prawns, scampi and scallops served with tartare sauce and chilli mayonnaise. El Gato Negro\u2019s moved to Castle Street and it\u2019s got a lovely outdoor seating area so if you want you can enjoy its small plates menu al fresco.\u00a0 There are too many favourites to mention from its meat, fish, bread, vegetable and charcuterie collections \u2013 although if we were pushed we\u2019d maybe say its Catalan Chorizo, mini Catalan chorizo with Aspall cider \u2013 but popular with everyone is its three for \u00a320 offer, Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n

Pen Factory<\/strong><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a great new menu at the recently taken over Hope Street bistro and as well as some truly tasty starters that are spot on for nibbly bites too \u2013 whitebait, hummus and bread, and croquettes \u2013 we can recommend their Deli Board for two, with a trio of charcuterie, pickles, grapes, apple, crostini and bread.<\/p>\n

Love Lane Brewery<\/strong>

It\u2019s had a refurb and a little bit of love lavished on it to create an altogether cosier Love Lane venue in the Baltic and on its new menu you\u2019ll find a freshly-cooked dish that\u2019s just the thing to go with your favourite pint. For variety, we like the Brewers Platter To Share, with Mrs Kirkham Cheese, pork sausage roll, house baked focaccia, pork Scotch egg, cured meat, and chutney.<\/p>\n

A lovely neighbourhood restaurant serving hand-stretched pizza, pasta, salads and sharing boards. As well as its individual appetisers, you\u2019ll love the Mezze Board with artichoke, aubergine, roasted peppers, falafel, olives, roasted tomatoes, sun-dried tomato hummus, and flatbread, and its Mixed Antipasti Board with mortadella, coppa, salami, picante sausage, gorgonzola, parmesan, balsamic glaze, and flatbread.<\/p>\n

Serrano ham, albondigas, calamari and stuffed piquillo peppers are just some of the dishes you might choose from this Catalonian tapas favourite at Albert Dock\u2019s Britannia Pavilion, but again, we\u2019d trust Lunyalita to put together the best platters to share, like the Giant Mixed Deli Plank with a huge selection of cheese, meat, chorizo sausage roll, Catalan p\u00e2t\u00e9, dip, crisps, salads, snacks, salad and breadsticks.<\/p>\n
