{"id":213639,"date":"2025-06-25T16:57:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T16:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/213639\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T16:57:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T16:57:09","slug":"championship-club-officially-announce-brilliant-everton-target-will-leave-as-a-free-agent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/213639\/","title":{"rendered":"Championship club officially announce &#8216;brilliant&#8217; Everton target will leave as a free agent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Everton are on the search for major squad additions this summer with massive changes taking place on Merseyside.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/club\/manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David Moyes<\/a> was able to work his magic after landing back at Finch Farm in January after keeping the Toffees afloat in the Premier League. <\/p>\n<p>The performances under the 62-year-old will have provided <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/tag\/Everton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton<\/a> fans with a lot of optimism for what could come under the Friedkins.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/the-two-signings-david-moyes-is-demanding-from-the-friedkins-just-days-after-everton-return\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moyes wanted two key signings back in January,<\/a> through a new full-back and winger, but he has been made to wait until the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Everton played it sensibly in January by only signing Carlos Alcaraz on a short-term loan basis.<\/p>\n<p>Now the summer window is open, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/everton-transfer-qa-sean-longstaff-kevin-thelwells-successor-and-david-moyes-four-targets-for-the-summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton are actively looking to strengthen their options at full-back<\/a>, and one target is now set to become a free agent. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2211009397-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Everton FC v Manchester City FC - Premier League\" class=\"wp-image-78256\" \/>Photo by Jan Kruger\/Getty ImagesEverton target Kyle Walker-Peters will become a free agent<\/p>\n<p>Among a number of other targets, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/fulham-set-to-open-talks-with-everton-target-who-david-moyes-wanted-to-sign-in-january\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton are eyeing a move for Kyle Walker-Peters<\/a>, with his Southampton future up in the air.<\/p>\n<p>But there has now been a huge update to emerge from the south coast surrounding the future of the full-back. <\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, it was officially announced by Southampton that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/tag\/kyle-walker-peters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Walker-Peters<\/a> would be moving on as a free agent. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Bringing to an end a five-and-a-half year stay \ud83d\ude07<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to Kyle Walker-Peters, who will leave the club at the end of his contract \u2764\ufe0f <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kJK3qm4j5U\">pic.twitter.com\/kJK3qm4j5U<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Southampton FC (@SouthamptonFC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SouthamptonFC\/status\/1937816812629975115?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 25, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>View Tweet<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was short and sweet, with Southampton very simply saying:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Bringing to an end a five-and-a-half year stay.
