{"id":214067,"date":"2025-06-25T20:40:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T20:40:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/214067\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T20:40:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T20:40:10","slug":"ineos-hire-englands-former-world-cup-chef-for-manchester-united-poaching-him-from-brighton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/214067\/","title":{"rendered":"Ineos hire England&#8217;s former World Cup chef for Manchester United, poaching him from Brighton"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Will Carvalho has become the new Head Performance Chef for the men\u2019s first team at Manchester United.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since taking control of football operations at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester United<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/ineos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ineos<\/a> have made a lot of changes from the top to the very bottom.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/sir-jim-ratcliffe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sir Jim Ratcliffe<\/a> became a controversial figure at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/old-trafford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Old Trafford<\/a> after announcing lots of redundancies since becoming co-owner. On top of that, match-going fans have been hit with increased ticket prices despite the team not meeting the required standards on the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>There is still a lot of work to be done at United, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/looks-spectacular-gary-neville-blown-away-by-man-united-stadium-pictures-sir-jim-ratcliffe-confirms-timeline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plans for a new stadium to replace Old Trafford<\/a>. Ineos are also trying to balance the books after years of dire ownership from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/glazers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glazer family<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/manchester-united-fans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United fans<\/a> are expected to continue to protest against the owners when the new season begins, but Ratcliffe will be focused on making a positive change at his beloved football club.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2216338300-1-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Sir Jim Ratcliffe disappointed after the Europa League final\" class=\"wp-image-273073\" \/>Photo by Michael Regan \u2013 UEFA\/UEFA via Getty ImagesPerformance Chef joins Manchester United<\/p>\n<p>Ratcliffe has shown in his many sporting ventures that he is interested in sports science and making sure he has experts in each field operating at his enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>It is no different at United, where Ratcliffe and co are trying to introduce a best-in-class strategy to create a winning culture that previously existed at the club.<\/p>\n<p>The latest development from United is that they have appointed Will Carvalho as their new Head Performance Chef for the men\u2019s first team, as per <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingground.guru\/performance-chef-carvalho-joins-manchester-united-from-brighton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Training Ground Guru<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That means Carvalho joins the club from Brighton, where he has been Executive Performance Chef for the past two seasons.<\/p>\n<p>It was an open vacancy at United since the departure of Omar Meziane, who left the club last October.<\/p>\n<p>Carvalho has previously worked for Brazil\u2019s women\u2019s team for more than 12-and-a-half years, as well as for the Gloucester rugby union team and Scottish rugby.<\/p>\n<p>Other recent changes made at Manchester United<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/opinion\/three-winners-and-three-losers-as-manchester-united-part-ways-with-dan-ashworth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sudden departure of Dan Ashworth<\/a> last season meant there would be changes within the hierarchy at United.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/two-man-united-chiefs-are-now-running-the-football-show-after-ineos-reshuffle-great-news-for-ruben-amorim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jason Wilcox has been promoted to Director of Football<\/a> and Michael Sansoni became Director of Data in May.<\/p>\n<p>On top of that, United have said goodbye to many personnel. They include first team coach Andreas Georgson, Head of Performance Analysis Paul Brand, Director of Insights and Innovation Richard Hawkins, and Physio David Binningsley.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manutd.com\/en\/news\/detail\/director-of-academy-nick-cox-to-depart-for-everton-role\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">biggest departure is Academy Director Nick Cox<\/a> after the incredible work he\u2019s done with the youth teams down the years.
