{"id":214576,"date":"2025-06-26T01:11:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T01:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/214576\/"},"modified":"2025-06-26T01:11:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T01:11:09","slug":"manchester-united-face-sell-on-clause-wait-as-president-coy-on-38-5m-real-madrid-transfer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/214576\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester United face sell-on clause wait as president coy on \u00a338.5m Real Madrid transfer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Manchester United are looking to raise funds by selling players, but sell-on clauses could provide a timely boost.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/ruben-amorim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ruben Amorim<\/a> is sparking real change at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester United<\/a>, and some big-name players could be on the move.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony are all available on permanent deals after loan spells away from Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/ruben-amorim-makes-ultimate-decision-on-alejandro-garnacho-transfer-man-utd-players-learn-future-plans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alejandro Garnacho has been told to leave United<\/a>, and others in Amorim\u2019s squad surely don\u2019t feel secure right now.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/matheus-cunha-to-manchester-united-confirmed-as-wolverhampton-wanderers-star-becomes-first-summer-signing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United have already signed Matheus Cunha<\/a>, but may need to bring in more money to secure other signings.<\/p>\n<p>Player sales will be the focus, but United are also waiting on a couple of potential sell-on clause windfalls.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2195063709-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Benfica's Alvaro Fernandez in action against Barcelona.\" class=\"wp-image-244850\" \/>Photo by Jose Manuel Alvarez Rey\/JAR Sport Images\/NurPhoto via Getty Images<strong>Benfica chief on former Manchester United talent Alvaro Fernande<\/strong>z<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/ex-man-utd-talent-now-valued-at-60m-as-newcastle-united-bid-rejected-sell-on-clause-could-pay-off\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newcastle have made a move for Anthony Elanga<\/a>, but Nottingham Forest have rejected their \u00a345million move.<\/p>\n<p>Forest are holding out for \u00a360million, with United waiting to potentially cash in on a sell-on clause placed in the Swede\u2019s deal.<\/p>\n<p>Elanga isn\u2019t the only former United talent who could be on the move, with Alvaro Carreras Fernandez potentially nearing a big move.<\/p>\n<p>United sold Fernandez to Benfica last summer, and the Spaniard has developed rapidly in Portugal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/man-utds-expected-windfall-halved-as-real-madrid-agree-alvaro-fernandez-deal-true-number-clear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Real Madrid are reportedly closing in on Fernandez<\/a>, with reports suggesting a \u20ac45million (\u00a338.5million) deal is close.<\/p>\n<p>United will be looking for that deal to go through and bring some cash into the Old Trafford coffers, but Benfica are claiming that the deal isn\u2019t close at all.<\/p>\n<p>Benfica president Rui Costa has told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marca.com\/futbol\/mundial-de-clubes\/2025\/06\/25\/rui-costa-sobre-carreras-madrid-haga-oferta-llegado-ninguna.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Marca<\/a> that there is no offer on the table from Real Madrid as things stand.<\/p>\n<p>Rui Costa may be keeping his cards close to his chest, with both Real and Benfica in Club World Cup action.<\/p>\n<p>The former AC Milan star noted that Fernandez is busy playing for Benfica rather than thinking about transfers, but told Real to make an offer if they want him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey should make us an offer. None have come so far. If they do, we\u2019ll see what happens,\u201d said Rui Costa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow is not the time, and it won\u2019t be until the tournament and our participation are over. Until then, there\u2019s no need to talk about anything.
