Daniel Farke<\/a> has already made two significant signings by recruiting Lukas Nmecha from Wolfsburg<\/a> on a free and centre-back Jaka Bijol for \u00a315m from Udinese.<\/a><\/p>\n

There\u2019s still a lot of work to do, though, with a goalkeeper, striker and playmaker still high on the agenda.<\/a><\/p>\n

A new all-action centre-midfielder is also wanted and Habib Diarra<\/a> has emerged as Leeds\u2019 ambitious target.<\/p>\n

Mouhamadou Habib Diarra is a highly rated Senegalese midfielder who plays for French side Strasbourg.<\/p>\n

Diarra was picked up by Strasbourg when he was just 14 years old and he climbed through the club\u2019s youth ranks before making his debut in 2021 at the age of 18.<\/p>\n

Though highly rated, it took another year for Diarra to break into the starting XI on a permanent basis but he has been a near ever-present since.<\/p>\n

Despite his tender years, Diarra has already made over 100 appearances for Strasbourg and was named the club captain in 2024. <\/p>\n

After playing for France at youth level, he switched his allegiance to Senegal, scoring in the historic 3-1 win over England in June.<\/a><\/p>\n

Diarra\u2019s talent hasn\u2019t gone unnoticed and now Leeds are trying to sign him.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Diarra has attracted a lot of interest, with Brighton <\/a>reportedly trying to sign him in January.<\/p>\n

Leeds\u2019 return to the Premier League means they can now compete for such quality players and Diarra emerged as a possible target<\/a> in early June.<\/p>\n

Brighton, as well as Angus Kinnear\u2019s Everton,<\/a> are said to be interested, along with Eintracht Frankfurt, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.<\/a><\/p>\n

Another report suggests Diarra\u2019s representatives have made contact with Atletico Madrid,<\/a> too.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t look promising and Leeds have been concerned<\/a> they will be priced out of signing Diarra, with a \u00a322m bid reportedly rejected.<\/a><\/p>\n

However, with no other offers coming in despite Strasbourg\u2019s delayed response, Leeds have reportedly tabled an improved offer of \u00a323.8m.<\/a><\/p>\n

It remains an ambitious move but, if Leeds can sign Diarra, they\u2019ll be getting a player Liam Rosenior described as \u2018magnificent\u2019.<\/a><\/p>\n
