Gromit Unleashed 3 returns to the city from next week<\/p>\n

A sculpture designed by Sir Paul McCartney will be one of more than 50 hitting the streets of Bristol and beyond from Monday (June 30).<\/p>\n

The work from the former Beatle – known as ‘Yellow Submarine’ – will form part of the Gromit Unleashed 3 sculpture trial that runs throughout the summer.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ahead of the main launch on Monday, a special event was held this morning (Wednesday) which saw a steam train loaded with the sculptures make its way along the harbourside <\/a>near the M Shed and Aardman Animations studio in Gas Ferry Road.<\/p>\n

Driven by Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park, the train carried a dozen unique character sculptures into the city to mark the start of Gromit Unleashed 3.<\/p>\n

The train was greeted by local school children before the ‘Yellow Submarine’ sculpture was lifted onto the harbour\u2019s heritage cranes and the ‘Jolly Roger’ themed one was hoisted onboard Bristol\u2019s former fire-boat, the Pyronaut, to its trail location at Underfall Yard Visitor Centre.<\/p>\n

Over the coming days, all 53 sculptures will be delivered to their trail locations<\/a>, throughout the city of Bristol and beyond.<\/p>\n

Organisers said designs were inspired by Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, with other designs in collaboration with and inspired by Roald Dahl, DreamWorks and Netflix, alongside a talented line-up of local artists.<\/p>\n

Joining Nick Park\u2019s two exclusive sculpture designs on this morning\u2019s train were designs by, and in collaboration with, Sir Paul McCartney, Pixar, Lucasfilm \u2013 creators of Star Wars – Richard Curtis, Jorge R. Gutierrez, Peter Lord, and local artists.<\/p>\n

Nick Park, Aardman director and creator of Wallace & Gromit, commented: \u201dIt\u2019s amazing to see such imagination and originality from the artists taking part in our trail this summer. I\u2019ve had the privilege of watching the work of such talented creators coming together all in support of a great cause – The Grand Appeal.<\/p>\n

The Gromit Unleashed 3 trail will run from Monday, June 30, to Sunday, August 31. The trail will be followed by The Greatest Dog Show on Earth exhibition before all the sculptures are auctioned to raise money for The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children\u2019s Hospital Charity.<\/p>\n

Visitors to the trail can tick off each sculpture via the official Gromit Unleashed 3 app, available on Apple and Android from Monday, June 30. A map of all sculptures will also be available from various locations around the city.<\/p>\n
