Prithvi Shaw<\/a>, the talented young batter, has ruined his career due to his mistakes. He was once touted as the next big thing, but he is out of the equation when it comes to playing for India. The batter was also dropped from Mumbai\u2019s team in domestic cricket. The 25-year-old has finally accepted his wrongdoings, saying he got distracted.<\/p>\nHe scored a hundred on his Test debut against the West Indies in 2018, and Ravi Shastri said that the player looks like a combination of Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, and Virender Sehwag.<\/p>\n
Last year, he went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction and was not even picked by the franchises as an injury replacement.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know what has happened to me. I made a lot of wrong decisions. I didn\u2019t give enough time to cricket. I used to spend a lot of time in net sessions, but reduced it to 3-4 hours. I was there on the ground for half a day and never got tired of batting. I admit that I got distracted,\u201d Shaw told News24.<\/p>\n
\u201cI started doing unnecessary things. I made the wrong friends. I was at the peak of my career, and friends took me here and there. From 8 hours, my practice sessions were cut to four hours,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Prithvi Shaw further added that a family problem also distracted him. \u201cI was very close to my grandfather, and he passed away. There are a lot of things I can\u2019t open up about. I admit my mistakes. But my father has always supported me,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Prithvi was not shocked after no IPL team had bought him at the auction. He has started working on his game. \u201cI am back on track and I believe in myself,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
