{"id":215370,"date":"2025-06-26T08:07:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T08:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/215370\/"},"modified":"2025-06-26T08:07:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T08:07:10","slug":"denis-villeneuve-to-direct-next-007-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/215370\/","title":{"rendered":"Denis Villeneuve to direct next 007 film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Denis Villeneuve, the Oscar-nominated French-Canadian filmmaker, will direct the next James Bond film, Amazon MGM Studios has announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The Dune director said in a statement released by the studio that he was a &#8220;die-hard James Bond fan&#8221; and intends to &#8220;honour the tradition&#8221; of the franchise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Speculation has been swirling over the future of the 007 films after long-time Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson <a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c1mn9gz5x3mo\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 bGFWdi\" rel=\"noopener\">stepped down from their roles<\/a> in February.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Villeneuve will also serve as an executive producer of the new film, having received global acclaim for helming the Dune franchise, as well as Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Amazon did not give any hints on the next actor to play James Bond in the announcement, after Daniel Craig stepped back from playing the most recent incarnation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Villeneuve acknowledged the &#8220;massive responsibility&#8221; of helming the new film and expressed his excitement at the challenge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">&#8220;I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr No with Sean Connery. I&#8217;m a die-hard Bond fan.
