This Christmas, the Liverpool Playhouse is heading back to Transylvania for another monstrously good time as Young Frankenstein returns this Christmas for a strictly limited five-week run, from 3 December 2025 to 3 January 2026.<\/p>\n
From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway hit The Producers, Young Frankenstein is a laugh-out-loud musical packed with outrageous humour and theatrical magic. Direct from its regional premiere at Manchester\u2019s Hope Mill Theatre, Mel Brooks\u2019 legendary comedy comes to life on stage in this hilarious Christmas treat.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Adapted by Mel Brooks from his legendary 1974 film starring Gene Wilder, Young Frankenstein tells the story of the grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced \u201cFronk-en-steen\u201d) who inherits his family\u2019s estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced \u201cEye-gore\u201d), and a leggy lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. \u201cIt\u2019s alive!\u201d he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather\u2019s. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
