Breakups aren\u2019t easy, but they don\u2019t need to be unnecessarily hard, either.<\/p>\n
Well, this<\/a> woman\u2019s ex decided to make her life harder and have her internet canceled.<\/p>\n He just wasn\u2019t expecting her to return the favor.<\/p>\n Let\u2019s see what she did.<\/p>\n My ex (29, M) has not been taking our breakup kindly since I (31, F) ended it in December.<\/p>\n He\u2019s tried to guilt me into getting back with him, not respected my boundaries and really living up to his comment that he \u2018no longer needs to be nice to me\u2019 now that we\u2019re not together.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Red flag!<\/p>\n I\u2019ve done my best to not engage with these interactions where I can.<\/p>\n By removing myself from the room or not replying to messages when they are of this nature, and blocking him on social media.<\/p>\n We shared a rental house together, so when he moved out I started the processes to change the services that were in his name over to mine.<\/p>\n One of those was the internet.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Sounds simple enough, but it became an issue.<\/p>\n When he left, I called the provider but as I was the secondary on the account, I could not make changes without his permission as it was his account.<\/p>\n I explained the situation (that he\u2019d moved out), so they emailed him the form he needed to fill out to change the account over to me.<\/p>\n All he needed to do was fill it out and email it back, a 5-minute task at most.<\/p>\n Now did he do that?<\/p>\n Of course not.<\/p>\n He called them up and cancelled the account instead.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n He wanted to make her life harder out of spite.<\/p>\n This left me without internet.<\/p>\n To his credit, he let me know AFTER he\u2019d already canceled it that he\u2019d done so, so I didn\u2019t come home to a surprise.<\/p>\n This meant I had to create a new account and restart the service.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, the previously set up router didn\u2019t like this, leaving me without internet for a week while we solved the issue and it removed the deal we had for a cheaper price on a faster internet speed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n His petty plan worked as he wanted, for a while.<\/p>\n Overall, it was a massive headache that could have been avoided if he\u2019d simply filled out a form.<\/p>\n After all that, I hadn\u2019t planned to do anything about it.<\/p>\n It was done and sorted, he was out of my life and his poor behavior no longer impacting me, but a few weeks ago I got an opportunity I couldn\u2019t resist.<\/p>\n I log onto my computer one Saturday afternoon and open up my Steam account to pick a game to play.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n She found the perfect opportunity\u2026<\/p>\n I go to open a game and get a notification that \u2018another device is playing Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, opening a new game will close this device\u2019.<\/p>\n For those who don\u2019t use Steam, it is typically a single user system (unless you have a family account) that only allows one device to play at a time.<\/p>\n My ex had previously logged onto my Steam account on his laptop while we were still together to play Hogwarts Legacy so he didn\u2019t have to buy it himself.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Interesting how vulnerable his games are now.<\/p>\n Once he\u2019d finished that, he made the poor decision to not make his own Steam account and keep buying games he wanted on mine.<\/p>\n Also it\u2019s important to note here that once you\u2019ve bought a game on an account, you cannot transfer your account\u2019s copy to another.<\/p>\n I had looked into this previously to try to give him the games he\u2019d bought but couldn\u2019t find a solution and left it for another day.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Then she realized she had to make a decision.<\/p>\n I knew I had 3 options here:<\/p>\n Well, they didn\u2019t have to be nice to each other anymore, right?<\/p>\n So what did I do? I picked option 3, I kicked him out permanently, mid-game, with no courtesy message first.<\/p>\n 10 minutes later, this boy has the audacity to send me a message asking for my Steam password.<\/p>\n I did not justify him with a response.<\/p>\n The icing on the cake?
