<\/p>\nDarragh McCarthy, chief executive of FinTrU, succeeds Gavin Annon in the role following the latter\u2019s two-year tenure.<\/p>\n
Mr McCarthy\u2019s election was announced at the annual general meeting of Belfast Chamber at its Custom House headquarters on Thursday.<\/p>\n
He has over 30 years\u2019 experience in the financial services industry, and established FinTrU in Belfast in 2013. <\/p>\n
Mr McCarthy is succeeded in his old role of vice-president by Lynsey Mallon, managing partner of law firm Arthur Cox in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

Mr McCarthy said he was \u201cextremely proud\u201d to become Chamber president. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Chamber\u2019s relevance as the true voice for business in the city has never been stronger as we continue to work tirelessly to ensure every member\u2019s interests are fully represented and their fantastic work enhanced.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy election as president is not only a personal privilege, but also a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the team at FinTrU.<\/p>\n

FinTrU now employs over 1,400 people across offices in Belfast, Londonderry, Letterkenny, London, New York and Porto.<\/p>\n
