\n\tKaty Perry<\/a> and Orlando Bloom<\/a> have ended their engagement, officially calling it quits after nine years together. People<\/a> confirmed the news, which was first reported by TMZ<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tSpeculation about their relationship began swirling recently, after it was reported that Bloom was set to attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez\u2019s wedding alone. Neither Perry nor Bloom has commented on the status of their relationship; their reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe pair first met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016 while fighting over a burger. \u201cI met my boyfriend over In-N-Out. We were at the Golden Globes and we weren\u2019t together,\u201d Perry previously shared<\/a>. \u201cSo I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend\u2019s hand \u2014 he wasn\u2019t even sitting at our table \u2014 he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, \u2018Hey that\u2019s my burger!’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThough the couple briefly split in 2017, they reunited just one year later. <\/p>\n

\n\tWhen discussing his role as the title character in a revival of the play\u00a0Killer Joe in 2018, Bloom called Perry a \u201cremarkable human being.\u201d As the Pirates of the Caribbean star is a \u201clittle older\u201d than the singer, he told The Times<\/a> that he \u201cwasn\u2019t someone overly familiar with her artistic endeavours\u201d when they crossed paths for the first time.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd, you know, when you get hit sideways, you get hit sideways. You don\u2019t pick who you fall in love with,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cWe had a really remarkable connection. And it\u2019s difficult. She\u2019s on tour, I\u2019m doing a play, everything evolves. I have a lot of respect for her and a lot of deep feeling. So we will see.\u201d<\/p>\n
