Police have made an arrest after a man ‘exposed himself’ outside a primary school. At around 1.50pm, Merseyside Police were called to St Margaret Mary\u2019s Junior School on Pilch Lane, Huyton<\/a>, to reports from members of the public of a man reportedly exposing himself.<\/p>\n He was detained and the school was immediately informed.<\/p>\n Police said there is no suggestion at this stage that any children witnessed the incident but extensive enquiries are ongoing, including CCTV and witnesses.<\/p>\n A 41-year-old man from St Helens<\/a> was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and has been taken to a police station for questioning.<\/p>\n Detective Inspector Steven O\u2019Neill said: \u201cWe understand the concern that such an incident will cause in the community and we\u2019re grateful to those members of the public who contacted police so we could apprehend him. We will liaise closely with the school and parents and carers to offer reassurance, and we will be providing a visible presence in the coming days.<\/p>\n \u201cThis will be subject to a full investigation so I would encourage anyone who saw or captured the incident on dashcam or other devices to come forward as a matter of urgency, on our official channels, and refrain from posting comments on social media which might jeopardise the integrity of this work.\u201d<\/p>\n Anyone with information should contact Merseyside Police social media desk via X @MerPolCC or on Facebook<\/a> \u2018Merseyside Police Contact Centre\u2019.
