Organised crime police in Birmingham have made three \u2018drug dealing\u2019 arrests after twin raids in the city on unconnected jobs.<\/p>\n
West Midlands Police<\/a>\u2019s Serious Organised Crime and Exploitation team (SOCEX) swooped and raided an address in Woodstock Road in Handsworth on Wednesday (June 25) morning.<\/p>\n Four-legged detective, PD Lucky, lived up to its name and guided officers to a \u2018large amount of crack cocaine and heroin\u2019.<\/p>\n Read more: Gun recovered after ‘drink drive road rage\u2019 incident<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Officers arrested Hemant Patel, of Woodstock Road, on suspicion dealing Class A drugs.<\/p>\n While elsewhere in the city the SOCEX team arrested another man, Sidhi Khan of Park Road in Sparkhill, on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs in an unconnected matter.<\/p>\n While Zafran Khan, 42, also of Park Road, was previously charged with the same offences and has been remanded to appear at court later this year.<\/p>\n Get breaking news on <\/strong>BirminghamLive WhatsApp<\/strong><\/a>, click the link to join<\/strong><\/p>\n A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: \u201cA man has been charged with drug offences after we carried out a warrant at an address in Handsworth.<\/p>\n \u201cYesterday morning, officers from our Serious Organised Crime and Exploitation team (SOCEX) carried out a warrant at an address in Woodstock Road.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of our police dogs, PD Lucky, also joined the warrant and helped guide officers to a large amount of crack cocaine and heroin.<\/p>\n \u201cHemant Patel was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.<\/p>\n \u201cThe 48-year-old has now been charged with being possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham<\/a> Magistrates Court today (26 June).”<\/p>\n
