Of the myriad nations that make up the team, four \u2013 Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica, and Barbados \u2013 were the dominant sides. For the 1947\/48 series, they named George Headley as their first Black captain \u2013 but for only the first and fourth Tests. Gerry Gomez and John Goddard, both White, were named for the other two.<\/p>\n
