{"id":217452,"date":"2025-06-27T02:26:14","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T02:26:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/217452\/"},"modified":"2025-06-27T02:26:14","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T02:26:14","slug":"asia-stock-markets-today-live-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/217452\/","title":{"rendered":"Asia stock markets today: live updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aerial view of Osaka Skyline<\/p>\n<p>Nikada | E+ | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Asia-Pacific markets mostly rose Friday, tracking Wall Street&#8217;s gains after White House spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/26\/trump-trade-tariffs-deadline.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karoline Leavitt downplayed<\/a> the impending start of the tariff deals, which have weighed on investor sentiment.<\/p>\n<p>July 8 is when the so-called liberation day tariffs are set to take effect after a 90-day pause, and July 9 is the deadline for an EU deal to avoid 50% tariffs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The deadline is not critical,&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/video\/2025\/06\/26\/july-9-trade-deadline-is-not-critical-white-house-says.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said Leavitt<\/a>. &#8220;Perhaps it could be extended, but that&#8217;s a decision for the president to make.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0benchmark\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.N225\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nikkei 225<\/a>\u00a0climbed 1.5% after hitting a five-month high in its previous session, while the broader Topix index advanced 1.3%.<\/p>\n<p>The country&#8217;s capital <a href=\"#108164889-post\">city of Tokyo saw core consumer price index<\/a> excluding fresh food and fuel rise 3.1% year on year in June,<strong> <\/strong>slower than the 3.6% increase seen in the previous month, and the 3.3% gain penciled by economists polled by Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>In South Korea, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kospi<\/a>\u00a0index fell 0.43%, while the small-cap Kosdaq dropped by 0.4%.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.HSI\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hang Seng Index<\/a>\u00a0rose 0.35% in early trade. Meanwhile, mainland China&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CSI 300<\/a>\u00a0index\u00a0rose 0.1% after data <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stats.gov.cn\/sj\/zxfb\/202506\/t20250627_1960270.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released by the National Bureau of Statistics<\/a> showed that the country&#8217;s industrial\u00a0profits <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/27\/china-industrial-profits-plunge-9point1percent-in-may.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fell 9.1% year on year<\/a>\u00a0in the first five months of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Over in Australia, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a> benchmark moved up 0.13%.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/26\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. stock futures<\/a>\u00a0were near the flatline in early Asian hours as investors awaited the release of several data points, including inflation, personal income, consumer spending and consumer sentiment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/25\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Overnight stateside<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S&amp;P 500<\/a>\u00a0rose to within a whisker of a new record high, as the broad market index overcame a slew of macroeconomic challenges including tariff wars, geopolitical tensions and sticky inflation.<\/p>\n<p>The S&amp;P 500 climbed 0.8% to close at 6,141.02, bringing its gain on the week to 2.9% and putting it just a few points away from its intraday all-time high of 6,147.43 in late February.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.IXIC\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nasdaq Composite<\/a>\u00a0advanced 0.97% to 20,167.91, also inches away from a new record.
