{"id":217547,"date":"2025-06-27T03:16:21","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T03:16:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/217547\/"},"modified":"2025-06-27T03:16:21","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T03:16:21","slug":"book-festival-held-in-bellaghy-raises-money-for-ni-childrens-hospice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/217547\/","title":{"rendered":"Book Festival held in Bellaghy raises money for NI Children\u2019s Hospice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"western\">The 2025 Ballyscullion Park Book Festival raised a fantastic \u00a31,600 for its chosen charity this year \u2013 Northern Ireland Children\u2019s Hospice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">The festival, which was held during a glorious weekend in early May, featured a programme of literary events including panel discussions, readings and music in the picturesque surroundings of Ballyscullion Park near Bellaghy in mid-Ulster. <\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">The event, which began in 2024, had a line-up of new and returning authors, children\u2019s writers, opinion formers, historians, poets, musicians and artists. There was a wonderful energy and bustle as people connected, listened, talked and enjoyed the hospitality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">This year, the festival was proud to announce a partnership with NI Children\u2019s Hospice. Attendees generously donated and a percentage of profits from ticket sales was made to the charity, with a fantastic total of \u00a31,600 being raised. <\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Festival director Rosalind Mulholland said: \u201cBallyscullion Park Book Festival was thrilled to partner with the Northern Ireland Children\u2019s Hospice this year. The festival exceeded all expectations, with the attendees, the authors and the speakers all telling us how much they enjoyed this literary and musical feast. <\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">&#8220;We are delighted to be able to contribute to the Children\u2019s Hospice \u2013 the only one of its kind in Northern Ireland \u2013 and are committed to having the charity as our partner again in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Leo Donaghy, Philanthropy Manager at NI Hospice, commented: \u201cWe are so grateful to Rosalind and her team at the Ballyscullion Book Festival for choosing Northern Ireland Children\u2019s Hospice as their partner in 2025. I attended and spoke at the festival and it was a wonderful event for the visitors. <\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">\u201cThe \u00a31,600 raised will go towards our specialised care and support for local children with life-limiting and life-threatening illness.
