Gloucester Park Harness Racing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tim Walker | Photo: PACEPIX<\/p>\n<p>Jocelyn Young will be hoping Steno can end a run of five consecutive second placings in Saturday\u2019s Princess Of The Bay (1780m) at Redcliffe.<\/p>\n<p>Steno again had to settle for the runner-up position at Albion Park last week, where she was beaten by Eye Keep Smiling for a third consecutive start.<\/p>\n<p>With no Eye Keep Smiling in this week\u2019s $20,000 event, Steno looks set to get her best opportunity of returning to the winner\u2019s list.<\/p>\n<p>Young said she was pleased with how Steno had performed on East Coast, despite not registering a win.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a look at her sectionals last night and she ran the fastest last half again on the weekend,\u201d Young told Racing WA Harness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe couldn\u2019t do any more from where she was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe horse has been super and settled in everywhere she\u2019s gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Steno has drawn the inside of the back line for her first assignment at Redcliffe, with the other major hope in the race Rylee Rhayne Bow in front of her.<\/p>\n<p>Young said she was unsure what to expect going to Redcliffe to drive for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be different for me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I\u2019ve been told is you don\u2019t make too much ground there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s drawn behind (Chantal) Turpin\u2019s horse and I know they have a high opinion of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe worst-case scenario from that draw is she will have a soft run.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young said she was trying to make the most of every opportunity presented to her on the East Coast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been really lucky to be mixing with good trainers and good people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to pinch myself at how lucky I am to be here.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe experience could be a once in a lifetime one, so I wanted to take the opportunity to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Young will be out for success in Queensland on Saturday, she will also be hopeful of having a winner at Gloucester Park on Friday night with Caberneigh or Peaceful.<\/p>\n<p>Caberneigh was run down in the closing stages by Codename Marcus in his most recent start at Gloucester Park on June 17.<\/p>\n<p>The gelding has drawn barrier eight in Friday\u2019s NSW Blues Under 22\u2019s State Cricket Team Pace (1730m).<\/p>\n<p>While Caberneigh has been consistent to start his campaign, Young said she hoped he would be able to score another win soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis first-up run was super,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI drove him at Pinjarra when he won those couple of starts in good time but wasn\u2019t super impressive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s probably a good race for him on Friday night, but I\u2019m not sure how we get into it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young\u2019s other runner Peaceful lines up in the Free Entry Fridays At Gloucester Park Pace (1730m) from barrier eight as well.<\/p>\n<p>Young indicated the mare would likely need the run but had been working well ahead of the assignment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Tim Walker | Photo: PACEPIX Jocelyn Young will be hoping Steno can end a run of five consecutive&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":217747,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4107],"tags":[1071,79,16,15],"class_list":{"0":"post-217746","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-racing","8":"tag-racing","9":"tag-sports","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/114753567871143433","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/217746","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=217746"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/217746\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/217747"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=217746"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=217746"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=217746"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
