It comes amid uncertainty in the Leicester dressing room, with club captain Conor Coady set to join Rangers<\/a> and Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen eyeing Bilal El Khannouss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Van Nistelrooy\u2019s parting Leicester statement<\/a> showed no signs of remorse towards the Foxes faithful, who now are tasked with sourcing his successor.<\/p>\n

With Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> boss Danny Rohl the favourite to become Leicester manager<\/a>, the Foxes have been handed a major financial boost in their pursuit of the Owls boss.<\/p>\n

Van Nistelrooy was expected to leave Leicester<\/a> this summer, and on Friday afternoon, the Foxes hierarchy finally cut ties with the Dutchman.<\/p>\n

Despite the fact some Leicester fans were open to van Nistelrooy staying<\/a>, the Foxes faithful have been far more vocal in their desperation to see current Sheffield Wednesday boss Rohl appointed at the King Power Stadium.<\/p>\n

All Leicester fans want Rohl to succeed van Nistelrooy<\/a>, but the main stumbling block regarding the German head coach\u2019s signature lies within Rohl\u2019s \u00a35m Owls release clause<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Sky Sports News<\/a> have outlined a major update regarding that release clause, which massively aids Leicester\u2019s pursuit of Rohl.<\/p>\n

They report that \u201cRohl\u2019s compensation package for another club to employ him has been halved, following negotiations with Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could cost Leicester around \u00a31m to get Rohl, if he is the option they choose to be their new manager.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a result, the Foxes\u2019 targeting of Rohl has been made far more financially accessible for the Foxes, which is prudent amid the financial struggles of King Power<\/a>, Leicester\u2019s owners.<\/p>\n

If the Foxes hierarchy can secure Rohl\u2019s signature this summer, they will further cement themselves as favourites for promotion in the early 2025\/26 Championship predictions<\/a>.<\/p>\n
