\n The new Hearts boss has 28 players travelling for a warm-weather camp, but Lawrence Shankland<\/a> will not be involved.\n<\/p>\n

\n The striker is out of contract at Hearts and won’t join the party heading for Spain on Saturday as his future remains unclear.\n<\/p>\n

\n Craig Gordon<\/a> is another absentee with the goalkeeper working on an injury return after McInnes confirmed he would miss the group stages of the League Cup.\n<\/p>\n

\n New signings Elton Kabangu<\/a>, Claudio Braga, Christian Borchgrevink, Oisin McEntee, Alexandro Kyziridis, and Stuart Findlay will all head to Spain with their new team-mates.\n<\/p>\n

\n McInnes recently said of Shankland: “He’s well aware of the\u00a0need for us to get some sort of clarity on the situation. He’s got to look at all the different\u00a0decisions that he’s got to make in terms of if there are other offers there.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Certainly, I want him on the plane to Spain. I\u2019m also aware that Lawrence needs to be doing a pre-season. He needs to be if he’s going to be part of us.\u00a0I want him to be part of that, those League Cup games.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Lawrence accepts that. Lawrence understands that I’ve got my work to do and\u00a0he’s very apologetic but he’s also asked for the need for a wee bit more time and a bit more patience.\n<\/p>\n

\n “So it’s not as if he’s just sitting back and enjoying the chase. He’s understanding the job that we’ve got to do and, equally, he’s a player that’s worth waiting for, but we\u2019ll not be waiting forever.”\n<\/p>\n
