ANDRE ONANA is set to be offered an escape route from Manchester United by clubs in Saudi Arabia \u2014 but wants to stay and fight for his place.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cameroon<\/a> international keeper was all smiles as he returned to United\u2019s Carrington HQ on Monday after being given time off to clear his head by Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Boss Amorim left him out of the squad for Sunday\u2019s 4-1 defeat at Newcastle<\/a> following his nightmare display<\/a> in Lyon<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n

But Onana<\/a> was assured he would be back in the starting line-up for the Europa League<\/a> quarter-final\u00a0 second leg at Old Trafford<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Understudy Altay Bayindir<\/a>, 27, also struggled at St James\u2019 Park<\/a>, gifting the Toon their fourth goal with a woeful clearance.<\/p>\n

So Amorim is likely to stick to the plan and put the club\u2019s season in the hands of the former Inter Milan<\/a> stopper.<\/p>\n

Onana, 29, looked relaxed and happy as he drove into training<\/a> with one of his\u00a0representatives, stopping to sign autographs outside.<\/p>\n

He has recently changed agent \u2014 a move which sparked speculation he could look to leave United less than two years after joining them in a \u00a347.2million deal.<\/p>\n

Onana was targeted by Saudi clubs before he left Inter for the Theatre of Dreams in July 2023 and there is still interest from the Kingdom.<\/p>\n

However, it is understood he is not looking to quit Amorim\u2019s strugglers right now and plans to prove the critics wrong and re-establish himself.<\/p>\n
