{"id":21997,"date":"2025-04-15T12:43:11","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T12:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/21997\/"},"modified":"2025-04-15T12:43:11","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T12:43:11","slug":"bristol-rovers-boss-makes-league-two-claim-about-his-own-players-ahead-of-wrexham-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/21997\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol Rovers boss makes &#8216;League Two&#8217; claim about his own players ahead of Wrexham clash"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Wrexham must hit back on Friday afternoon as relegation-threatened Bristol Rovers make the trip to the ST\u014dK Cae Ras.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are now just four games to go as the League One season heads towards its climax.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wrexham<\/a> still hold second place in the League One table but now lead Wycombe Wanderers by just one point.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/match\/five-things-learned-from-wrexhams-league-one-clash-with-wigan-as-paul-mullin-watches-with-fans-whilst-phil-parkinson-finds-himself-in-trouble\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wrexham drew 0-0 with Wigan Athletic<\/a> on Saturday, turning in a frustrating performance which was compounded by Wycombe\u2019s late win against Stevenage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/news\/phil-parkinson-comments-on-wrexhams-position-in-league-one-promotion-race-after-0-0-draw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phil Parkinson believes Wrexham are in a great position<\/a>, and he would have taken being a point clear in second place with four games to play.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham failed to register a shot on target against Wigan, though, and must hit back with a better display against Bristol Rovers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GettyImages-2191807641-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by MI News\/NurPhoto via Getty Images\" \/>Photo by MI News\/NurPhoto via Getty Images<strong>Bristol Rovers boss looks ahead to Wrexham clash<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Pirates have now lost six League One games in a row and have now dropped into the relegation zone.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/news\/bristol-rovers-sack-manager-just-days-before-facing-phil-parkinsons-wrexham\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bristol Rovers sacked Matt Taylor<\/a> earlier this season, but the bold decision to appoint Inigo Calderon in his place could backfire with relegation.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham must come out strong on Friday and seize the opportunity to get back to winning ways against a struggling side.<\/p>\n<p>Calderon has looked ahead to Friday\u2019s clash but has criticised his team\u2019s performances away from home.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolrovers.co.uk\/news\/inigo-calderon-frustrated-and-disappointed-exeter-city-defeat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bristol Rovers\u2019 official website<\/a>, Calderon suggested that his players \u2018haven\u2019t been that good\u2019 on the road.<\/p>\n<p>Calderon noted that Bristol Rovers were \u2018a bit better\u2019 against Bolton Wanderers, but he knows the magnitude of the situation he faces.<\/p>\n<p>The Spaniard wants to just focus game by game rather than as a four-game chunk, something Parkinson will be preaching to his Wrexham players too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have Wrexham away, and we know our performances away haven\u2019t been that good,\u201d said Calderon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s true that the last one against Bolton was a bit better. It\u2019s not four games. It\u2019s one game. The next one is the most important one.
