THOUSANDS of extra Oasis tickets are expected to be up grabs for the band’s Edinburgh shows.<\/p>\n

The Brit Pop icons are due to perform three sold-out concerts at Murrayfield Stadium in August.<\/p>\n

Organisers of the hotly anticipated shows have been permitted to boost capacity from 67,130 to 69,990.<\/p>\n

The City of Edinburgh<\/a> Council said its licensing committee approved the increase following consultation with police and public safety officials, as reported by the BBC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There were no public objections to the applications.<\/p>\n

The Gallagher brothers and their bandmates will take to the stage in the capital on August 8, 9 and 12.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Oasis<\/a> told fans that promoters “may be able to release a very limited number of additional tickets”.<\/p>\n

It is expected that organisers will be able to sell 8,580 extra briefs for the three Edinburgh concerts.<\/p>\n

The application to increase Murrayfield’s capacity related to existing seating, which now have a clear view of the stage.<\/p>\n

Council bosses have green-lighted similar capacity increase applications for the national rugby stadium in the past.<\/p>\n

But it is understood that the extra tickets available for Oasis is smaller than for Taylor Swift’s<\/a> box office shows last summer.<\/p>\n

Councillor Louise Young, convener of the council’s licensing board, said: “An application to increase the capacity at Murrayfield for the upcoming Oasis concerts was approved by the licensing board on 23 June.<\/p>\n

“This decision followed consultation with the police and public safety officers.”<\/p>\n

Oasis fans on the band’s mailing list received an email today saying “there may be some final production release tickets put on sale”.<\/p>\n

Registration for the chance to buy the extra briefs is open until June 29.<\/p>\n

Oasis last performed at Murrayfield Stadium in 2009, before the band split amid tensions between the Gallagher brothers.<\/p>\n
