Everton won\u2019t have many transfer battles with Liverpool, but this could be one they win.<\/strong><\/p>\n

David Moyes<\/a> would do anything to get one over the red side of Merseyside.<\/p>\n

A way they might explore to do this is securing Ben Doak\u2019s \u00a330m arrival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Well, on the winger\u2019s front, it\u2019s gone fairly quiet, but The Friedkin Group<\/a> will still be exploring the signing of a right-winger.<\/p>\n

That possibility could now become a reality for Everton<\/a>, as Moyes has a plan to fend off Liverpool with one key target.<\/p>\n

After it was announced that Lyon were relegated to Ligue 2<\/a>, many of their players could be up for sale, and there are some gems.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s already been said that Everton want Lyon\u2019s Nicolas Tagliafico<\/a>, as the Argentine was in Moyes\u2019 head before a verdict had been decided on Lyon\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

But now, the Scotsman is continuing his raid as Everton are keen on Malick Fofana<\/a>, who looks to be a very exciting winger at the French side.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old has certainly grabbed the attention, as Everton fans can\u2019t believe Fofana is of interest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, TEAMtalk<\/a> have followed up on this interest, suggesting that a fee of \u00a343m would be the amount Lyon require for the promising forward, but this could lower after their relegation.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also said that Liverpool will rival Everton for the Belgian\u2019s signature, but the Toffees have a trick up their sleeve.<\/p>\n

Lyon could help Everton land Fofana due to the Toffees having a good relationship with the French side, having loaned Orel Mangala <\/a>last season, and with Moyes also coming close to signing Ernest Nuamah<\/a> from them in January.<\/p>\n

Everton\u2019s trick might not be enough to land Fofana<\/p>\n

Despite being on good terms with Lyon, the French outfit will most likely look to sell to the highest bidder, and that\u2019s something Liverpool have on Everton\u2019s potential \u00a350m budget<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Moyes will look to explore the possibility of using Mangala\u2019s short tenure as a way to convince Fofana to join, as the Belgian will no doubt know the winger well.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a very exciting talent, as Fofana has shown his clear promise on the European stage.<\/p>\n

Everton might be able to convince Lyon, but at the end of the day, the player\u2019s wishes come first, and unfortunately, that lies with Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Malick\u2019s agent, Bobo Fofana, spoke to Africa Foot<\/a> in March and said: \u201cThe choice of the heart would be Liverpool.\u201d <\/p>\n
