It now moves to the second chamber of Parliament, the House of Lords, where the bill can be amended or delayed but not overruled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In a social media <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/StateDRL\/status\/1938224785990754414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/StateDRL\/status\/1938224785990754414\">post<\/a>, the Trump administration criticized the legislation for supporting \u201cstate-subsidized suicide,\u201d adding \u201cthe United States reaffirms the sanctity of life.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe western world should stand for life, vitality and hope over surrender and death,\u201d the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor wrote in its social media <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/StateDRL\/status\/1938224785990754414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/StateDRL\/status\/1938224785990754414\">statement<\/a>. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">As the UK Parliament considers support for state-subsidized suicide, euphemistically called a bill for \u201cTerminally Ill Adults,\u201d the United States reaffirms the sanctity of life. Sikh Council of the U.K. said it \u201cexpresses serious concern\u201d over the legislation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe Sikh community believes in seva (selfless service), and we are
