Late-night hosts discussed Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s belief that he should win a Nobel peace prize and the bizarre new name given to him by the Nato chief.<\/p>\n

Seth Meyers<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Late Night, Seth Meyers<\/a> said that Trump\u2019s insistence that he deserves the Nobel peace prize for inserting himself into the Iran-Israel conflict is \u201cobviously insane\u201d but \u201cat best we can trick him\u201d by offering him a \u201cBabybel piece of cheese on a lanyard\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added that \u201cno president should get a Nobel peace prize\u201d and played footage of Trump listing all of the things he has done that deserve one. \u201cThis idiot thinks it\u2019s the Nathan\u2019s hotdog contest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meyers said that Trump is thirsty for praise \u201cfor stopping an illegal war he started\u201d and is now \u201cabsolutely livid\u201d that the ceasefire was violated.<\/p>\n

Despite Trump\u2019s claim that bombing Iran was a \u201ccomplete and total victory\u201d, Meyers said that the victory lap \u201cmight have been a tad immature\u201d as intelligence suggests that it has only set Iran\u2019s nuclear program back six months.<\/p>\n

He said that they \u201ccan\u2019t even say for sure where all of Iran\u2019s uranium is or if it was being used for nuclear weapons\u201d.<\/p>\n

This week also saw Nato\u2019s secretary general, Mark Rutte, give Trump a new nickname, referring to him as \u201cdaddy\u201d in a much-shared clip.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy is anyone calling him daddy?\u201d Meyers asked. \u201cAm I watching a Nato summit or a softcore Cinemax movie from the 80s?\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump was also asked why he has not fixed the situation in Ukraine after he promised it would be sorted within 24 hours before he won his second term. \u201cEvery time Trump runs for president he pretends everything is super fucking easy and then we all warn him it\u2019s not and then he gets the job and immediately learns that he was wrong and we were right,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meyers also celebrated the victory of Zohran Mamdani, who triumphed in the Democratic primary for the New York mayoral race. \u201cVoters just want authentic politicians,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Stephen Colbert<\/strong><\/p>\n

On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert<\/a> also spoke about how it had been \u201can historic week\u201d in New York with \u201ca stunning upset\u201d for Mamdani.<\/p>\n

He could now be the first south Asian and first Muslim mayor as well as the youngest mayor in over a century. He won via a \u201crelentlessly positive campaign\u201d and Colbert joked: \u201cI for one cannot wait to get my free bus.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was seen as a major win \u201cagainst Democratic establishment\u201d, attracting the support of Bernie Sanders.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also New York Pride week, which has always been seen as \u201ca celebration and a protest\u201d, but while big business once saw the value in it with corporations making sure to brand themselves as queer-friendly, \u201cever since Donald trump started viciously attacking\u201d the community, the same companies have now gone silent.<\/p>\n

Colbert gave a number of examples of toned-down Pride merch including items of clothing at Target that are oatmeal or black but had tiny Pride flags or messages in a small font.<\/p>\n
