Family Centre<\/a>\u00a0announced the\u00a0the return of Girl Code, a \u201ctherapeutic group designed to empower and support teen girls in navigating the challenges of adolescence.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said, \u201cThe group will take place from Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25, 2025, from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm daily at Family Centre\u2019s premises.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow in its second year, Girl Code is tailored for girls ages 14 to 16 and offers a safe space to explore critical topics such as self-esteem, mental health, and relationships. The group is facilitated by clinically trained staff who provide therapeutic support, with sessions focusing on emotional regulation, self- expression, problem-solving strategies, and healthy coping skills. Discussions will be brought to life through creative arts, group activities, and fun, engaging experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rish\u00e8e Paschal, Counselling Team Leader at Family Centre, shared: \u201cThe response from last year\u2019s participants and their families was incredibly encouraging. Parents observed significant positive changes in their daughters, and many expressed a desire for more sessions to be offered. When girls are given a safe space to express themselves, their confidence grows, and they begin to make more thoughtful, empowered choices.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spokesperson said, \u201cFeedback from the group\u2019s 2024 participants echoes this impact. In exit surveys, 100% of the participants said they enjoyed the group and found it to be a valuable space to express their feelings and learn new skills. One teen reflected: \u2018I learned that different people go through the same things I do.\u2019<\/p>\n

\"Family<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cOther participants highlighted takeaways such as learning the building blocks for positive self-esteem, coping skills, healthy relationships, and how to manage intense feelings.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year\u2019s sessions will continue to address sensitive and important subject matters such as identity, self- worth, and relationships with compassion and clinical care. The programme increases self-awareness, helps build a positive sense of identity and self-worth, and promotes healthy decision making in relationships.<\/p>\n

\u201cParticipation is offered at no cost, thanks to the generosity of Family Centre\u2019s donors. A donation of $130 per attendee is encouraged to support the cost of materials and supplies for the group.<\/p>\n
