All Creatures Great and Small<\/a> star Nicholas Ralph<\/a> has shared some major news about the upcoming sixth season<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Taking to social media, the actor, who plays real-life veterinary surgeon James Herriot in the 5 drama, revealed that filming has wrapped on the upcoming batch of episodes. <\/p>\n

In a behind-the-scenes video posted to his Instagram<\/a> Stories on Thursday, the cast and crew could be seen sharing a hug after shooting the final scene of the new season. <\/p>\n

Alongside the video, Ralph shared a caption which read: “Wrap on S6,” followed by a love heart emoji. Filming on the latest instalment began back in February<\/a>, though a release date is yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

Based on the early career of Herriot and set in 1940s Yorkshire, All Creatures Great and Small follows the veterinary surgeon as he navigates life in the countryside. <\/p>\n

The synopsis reads: “James Herriot, fresh out of Glasgow Veterinary College, pursues his dream to become a vet in the Yorkshire Dales. He discovers that treating the animals is as much about treating their owners, and the Dales’ farmers are tough to please.”<\/p>\n

Joining Ralph in the cast of the series are stars including Rachel Shenton, Samuel West, Anna Madeley, Imogen Clawson, and Callum Woodhouse. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Ralph would be joining the cast<\/a> of new period drama Wax Fruit alongside Line of Duty<\/a> star Martin Compston<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Set in 19th-century Glasgow, the upcoming series follows the Moorhouse family as they rise from rural poverty to the heights of the Victorian era, taking in all the glamour that comes with high-society.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the upcoming series, Ralph said: “All the characters are so well drawn and unique, but at the heart you have the big bold Moorhouse family. I love the world, the time period and these wonderful characters and I am so invested. Needless to say, I\u2019m very excited to be joining the Wax Fruit gang.”<\/p>\n

All Creatures Great and Small airs on Channel 5 in the UK. Season 6 doesn’t have a release date yet, while seasons 1-5 are available on My5.<\/strong><\/p>\n
