Fighting zombies with your bare hands feels especially dangerous in an outbreak, yet a Muay Thai fighter does just that for the sake of love in the new trailer for the Netflix<\/strong><\/a> film Ziam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Netflix Thailand\u2019s first action-zombie film debuts on the streaming service on July 9, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As for the plot, \u201cIn a world gripped by food shortages, a tenacious Muay Thai boxer battles a zombie outbreak inside a hospital to save his lover from the jaws of death.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark-Prin Suparat<\/strong> stars as Singh, the former professional Muay Thai fighter willing to take on hordes with his bare hands. Nychaa-Nuttanicha Dungwattanawanich, Vayla-Wanvayla Boonnithipaisit, Johnny Anfone, Pimmada Borriruksupakorn<\/strong>, and Jason Young<\/strong> also star.<\/p>\n

Kulp Kaljareuk<\/strong> directs from a script by Nut Nualpang, Weerasu Worrapot, Vatanyu Ingkavivat<\/strong>, and Chonnatee Pimnam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve all seen many zombie movies, but we rarely see zombies involved in hand-to-hand combat or boxing. We wanted to explore what it\u2019s like to fight zombies using the techniques of Muay Thai, which is known for its intensity and the use of the entire body, including elbows and knees as powerful weapons,\u201d Director Kulp Kaljareuk explained to Netflix<\/a>. \u201cEach zombie is crafted with special makeup. No CGI was used to create raw and gory flesh. This choice helps give the zombies a visceral, physical presence that draws the audience deeper into the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Practical effects and an emphasis on action sounds like Ziam may have what it takes to stand out from the crowded zombie subgenre.<\/p>\n

The film\u2019s title refers to Thailand\u2019s historical name, Siam, but with a \u201cZ\u201d for zombies.<\/p>\n
