WE are hugely grateful for your efforts, often in the face of danger, and those of your loved ones, providing support at home,\u201d it continued. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" commemorative post highlighted the contributions of members of the Royal Family\u2019s military contributions.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Prince of Wales, His Majesty trained as a jet pilot at RAF Cranwell before embarking on a career with the Royal Navy,\u201d the post said as introduced King Charles as Head of the Armed Forces  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe qualified as a helicopter pilot in 1974, served aboard HMS Hermes and later commanded the minehunter, HMS Bronington,\u201d it added alongside a picture of Charles in the cockpit pf a Navy helicopter.  <\/p>\n<p>The post then celebrated the \u201cgenerations of the Royal Family\u201d who had served with references to both Prince William and the late Prince Phillip.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"366eb\" served for over seven years, first joining the Blues and Royals, a cavalry regiment, and later transferring to the RAF as a search and rescue helicopter pilot,\u201d was written alongside an image of an aircraft piloted by William airlifting a wounded soldier.  <\/p>\n<p>It also extolled the service of the King\u2019s late father aboard HMS Valiant and HMS Wallace. <\/p>\n<p>The post revealed that Phillip saw: \u201cAction in the Battle of Crete, the Battle of Cape Matapan, and the Allied invasion of Sicily, where he was mentioned in dispatches for his role operating a searchlight during a night attack.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>However, Prince Harry\u2019s achievements in military service were not mentioned in the commemorative post. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" in May 2005. <\/p>\n<p>After completing 44 weeks of Officer Cadet training, the father-of-two was commissioned as an army officer in April 2006 and joined the Blues and Royals. <\/p>\n<p>Harry revealed in his memoir that he flew six missions during his second tour of Afghanistan as an Apache helicopter gunship Commander. <\/p>\n<p>His military service concluded in June 2015 following a been prohibited from wearing military uniform at official state occasions, a restriction that also applied when he attended the Queen&#8217;s funeral procession.<\/p>\n<p>This was seen as he issued a special message to mark Germany&#8217;s inaugural Veteran&#8217;s Day, where he wore a suit adorned with medals including his Afghan Campaign medal, Golden Jubilee medal, Diamond Jubilee medal and Platinum Jubilee medal.<\/p>\n<p>After opening his address in German, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/royal\/prince-harry-video-message-german-veterans-day-latest-royal-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the duke spoke of his &#8220;profound privilege&#8221; to address the nation on this &#8220;sacred day&#8221;.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Harry reflected on the purpose of military service, saying: &#8220;As someone who has worn the uniform and stood shoulder to shoulder with brothers-and sisters-in-arms from across the world\u2014including many of you\u2014I know that the weight of
