{"id":222178,"date":"2025-06-28T20:13:17","date_gmt":"2025-06-28T20:13:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/222178\/"},"modified":"2025-06-28T20:13:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-28T20:13:17","slug":"dont-move-money-before-your-visa-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/222178\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Don&#8217;t move money before your visa Interview\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Simon Field, Deputy Head of Mission at the UK Deputy High Commission in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lagosstate.gov.ng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lagos<\/a><\/strong>, has cautioned Nigerians against making suspicious deposits into their bank accounts in preparation for visa interviews.<\/p>\n<p>This statement buttresses a recent PREMIUM TIMES report on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.premiumtimesng.com\/news\/top-news\/793869-how-uks-new-immigration-policy-may-affect-nigerians-others.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">how the UK\u2019s new immigration policy<\/a><\/strong>, introduced in May, could impact Nigerians seeking relocation to the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Mr Field revealed this caution during a morning programme, Let\u2019s Talk on Nigeria Info, Lagos.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dangote.com\/dangote-petroleum-refinery-to-begin-distribution-of-pms-and-diesel-nationwide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-801098 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Dangote.jpeg\" alt=\"Dangote AD\" width=\"300\" height=\"302\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr Field stated that unnaturally depositing funds into an account before an interview is like shooting oneself in the leg while facing clearance officers during a visa interview, as it can lead to suspicion and potential visa denial.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cOne of the things that we always see with visas, which scares visa clearance officers, is people who think you have to have a certain amount of money in their accounts. And overnight, they suddenly transfer lots of money into their account, don\u2019t do that.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/iLBQ9yxE99HTbYjh8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-790127 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1751141596_150_New.jpg\" alt=\"Audience Feedback Survey\" width=\"1600\" height=\"400\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s bad for the visa officer because it makes you look suspicious. Most visas are issued for the UK, and we\u2019re welcoming. We really want Nigerians to come to the UK and explore London and the whole of the United Kingdom. And I promise you, most visas are issued.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visa accounts benchmark<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While addressing questions about the minimum funds applicants must have before their visa interviews, Mr Field said: \u201cAbsolutely not. There\u2019s no benchmark for how much money you have. But there\u2019s no minimum amount they look for in your account.
