Police are assessing videos of comments made by Bob Vylan and Kneecap at Glastonbury to decide whether any offences may have been committed.<\/p>\n
In a post on social media Avon and Somerset Police said: \u201cWe are aware of the comments made by acts on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury Festival this afternoon.<\/p>\n
\u201cVideo evidence will be assessed by officers to determine whether any offences may have been committed that would require a criminal investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The videos being assessed are understood to include footage of punk duo Bob Vylan and Irish rap trio Kneecap.<\/p>\n It comes as the Government said it ‘strongly condemns’ the comments made by Bob Vylan.<\/p>\n The punk duo performed on the stage before Kneecap and led the crowd in chants of: \u201cFree, free Palestine\u201d and: \u201cDeath, death to the IDF\u201d.<\/p>\n During Kneecap\u2019s set, band member Naoise O Caireallain, who performs under the name Moglai Bap, said: \u201cThe Prime Minister of your country, not mine, said he didn\u2019t want us to play, so f*** Keir Starmer.\u201d<\/p>\n The band also led crowds in chants of: \u201cFree Palestine\u201d.<\/p>\n A Government spokesperson said: \u201cWe strongly condemn the threatening comments made by Bob Vylan at Glastonbury.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Culture Secretary has spoken to the BBC<\/a> Director General to seek an urgent explanation about what due diligence it carried out ahead of the Bob Vylan performance, and welcomes the decision not to re-broadcast it on BBC iPlayer.\u201d<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/strong>Glastonbury’s Kneecap lead chants against Prime Minister Keir Starmer after BBC cut<\/a><\/p>\n For the latest stories and breaking news visit manchestereveningnews.co.uk<\/a>.
