The bedroom was spacious, with a king-size bed that was supremely comfortable – I genuinely struggled to get up in the mornings.

The living area was chic and well-designed, filled with modern furniture and quirky touches and even a feature bar.

(Image: Immy Share, Newsquest) What really set the room apart, though, was the private terrace. From here, I could see Arthur’s Seat in one direction and the spires of the Old Town and Edinburgh Castle in the other.

Arthur’s Seat view from room (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest) It was the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.

The bathroom was equally luxurious, with a huge rain shower, double vanities, and high-end toiletries that added to the indulgence.

Each morning I enjoyed the à la carte breakfast at the hotel’s Sushi Samba restaurant.

The options were varied and beautifully prepared – from smashed avocado on sourdough to pancakes, granola, pastries and fruit.

The service was attentive but relaxed, just what I wanted to start the day.

On the Saturday evening, I dined at Sushi Samba, which occupies a prime position at the top of the W.

Sushi Samba in the W Edinburgh (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest) The food was exceptional – fresh, innovative sushi, and small plates that brought together Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian influences.

The black cod and the wagyu gyoza were standouts, along with the crispy yellowtail tacquitos and seabass with mango ceviche which were delicious.

(Image: Immy Share, Newsquest)

My boyfriend had the Japanese Wagyu which came sizzling on a hot stone with dipping sauces. It was one of those show-stoppers that had the whole restaurant jealous and wanting to order the same.

After dinner, I had drinks at the W’s 12th-floor bar, where the views over Edinburgh were nothing short of spectacular.

The cocktail menu was creative, and the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming.

Watching the sunset with panoramic views was pretty amazing.

Beyond the hotel, I spent my days exploring Edinburgh.

The Old Town, with its narrow closes and medieval buildings, was a delight to wander through.

I visited the Castle, strolled along the Royal Mile, and even took a ghost tour one evening for a bit of fun.

The New Town offered a different vibe with elegant Georgian architecture and stylish boutiques. Being located right at St James Quarter meant I had easy access to shops, cafes, and bars whenever I wanted.

The area around the hotel is vibrant and modern, but it’s just a short walk to the historic parts of the city.

All in all, my weekend in Edinburgh was unforgettable, and staying at the W made it extra special.

The blend of luxury, location, and service was spot-on, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Whether you’re visiting for the history, the food, or just to soak in the city’s unique energy, the W Edinburgh is a fantastic choice.

I recently spent a long weekend in Edinburgh, travelling up from London for a much-needed break, and I…

[8816
24785,748,1102,27651,4884,87922,31984,87921,712,16,15
0":"post-222762","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-edinburgh","8":"tag-arthurs-seat","9":"tag-britain","10":"tag-edinburgh","11":"tag-edinburgh-castle","12":"tag-great-britain","13":"tag-immy-share","14":"tag-newsquest","15":"tag-panoramic-views","16":"tag-scotland","17":"tag-uk","18":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
