RAYE moved Glastonbury fans to tears as she appeared to become teary-eyed during her emotional Pyramid Stage performance. Festival-goers and viewers at home were left wondering about the artist’s wellbeing, asking “is RAYE okay?” after her powerful set.<\/p>\n
The 27 year old graced the main stage before headliners Neil Young and Chrome Hearts following a day of political activism across Worthy Farm. Accompanied by a brass band, her soulful songs evoked feelings of melancholy among an emotionally stirred crowd.<\/p>\n
Before breaking into Ice Cream Man, a raw song about the trauma she has experienced in the music industry, RAYE pondered if she should still play the song. RAYE appeared to fight back tears during the performance and ended the song by admitting to her audience: “It’s a sad song. But music is medicine.”<\/p>\n
Fans showered praise on the singer, taking to social media to praise her “beautiful set”. One fan added: “Emotional rollercoaster or what?? RAYE girl let me catch my breath.”<\/p>\n

While many Glastonbury acts stick to their fan favourite classic songs, RAYE chose to sing a brand new, unheard song. “I can’t stop listening to this,” one fan said about the tune. “RAYE, your consistency for making such beautiful music is honestly incredible. You are so lethal, and if this song is part of your unnamed second album, we are definitely eating.”<\/p>\n
“I hope RAYE\u2019s next album is just a brass band and her singing, soooo good,” another fan said.<\/p>\n
Someone else said: “RAYE performing Ice Cream Man on the main stage whilst holding back the tears as the crowd hang on her every word; truly amazing! A very f******g brave, strong woman and then some!!!”<\/p>\n
“The band, the backing singers, the goddess that is RAYE,” another person said. “This is IMO the best live performance so far. Her voice is incredible & she says she\u2019s a bit croaky. Wow.”<\/p>\n
RAYE is set to be followed by Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, who will headline the Pyramid Stage before day four of the festival comes to an end.<\/p>\n
