{"id":223404,"date":"2025-06-29T07:23:12","date_gmt":"2025-06-29T07:23:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/223404\/"},"modified":"2025-06-29T07:23:12","modified_gmt":"2025-06-29T07:23:12","slug":"most-chinese-investments-in-the-arctic-have-not-fully-materialized","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/223404\/","title":{"rendered":"Most Chinese Investments in the Arctic Have Not Fully Materialized"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not at any cost<\/p>\n<p>When explaining why only a small portion of Chinese ambitions and plans for investments in the Arctic have been realized, the researchers point to a wide range of complex reasons, including geopolitical and domestic political obstacles, security concerns, environmental concerns, as well as restrictions on the mining of ore containing uranium.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In addition, Chinese companies will be concerned with the economics of the project, and there are examples where Chinese investments seem to have been shelved because of economic reasons,&#8221; Visiting Researcher Edstr\u00f8m adds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Have awoken to the risks&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Co-author and professor P.
