Le Grand Tour” is a new luxury train trip in France<\/a>, launching in September 2025, that offers a six-day five-night journey around France with immersive shows and fine dining. It is operated by the same team behind the Puy du Fou theme park. The train will depart from Paris<\/a> Gare de L’Est and travel through iconic locations like Champagne, Burgundy, Lake Annecy, the Arcachon Basin, the Ch\u00e2teaux of the Loire Valley, and the Palais des Papes in Avignon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Aboard the stunning new luxury train the specatcular journey, taking in some of the best cities, towns and sites of France, covers 4,000 km or 2500 miles.<\/p>\n

The website says: “The luxury train<\/a> is a masterpiece of Belle \u00c9poque design. Luxury trains at the dawn of the 20th century combined elegant new and tasteful style with plush interiors.\u00a0The cosy atmosphere of Le Grand Tour’s enchanting cabins meet the warmth of the Bar Car and the bright colours of the Restaurant Car.”<\/p>\n

Ah the Restaurant Car! If ever there was a place to\u00a0 celebrate French gastronomy. Forget everything you have ever experienced in a British Rail buffet car. Here the\u00a03 Michelin starred chef<\/a>\u00a0prepares menus with fresh and local products from the regions through which Le Grand Tour passes.<\/p>\n

The train carries 42 passengers looked after by 15 crew members which the company says adds up to “the French art of travel.”<\/p>\n

The 8 Cabins, between 10 m\u00b2 – 25 m\u00b2, have personalised light levels, music, and heating \/ air-conditioning and one bears the name of\u00a0 an illustrious personality of the past. The cabins are described as “private salons by day that are transformed into comfortable bedrooms by night.”<\/p>\n

Large picture windows present the panorama of the scenic French countryside. Each Le Grand Tour cabin has a private bathroom. Your butler is available at all times. Yes! Really!<\/p>\n

Le Grand Tour leaves Paris<\/a> in the early morning towards Reims The scenery flies by and before you know it your arrive in the city of kings and its sublime cathedral. After lunch, the journey continues to Beaune, the jewel of Burgundy. The region presents beautiful scenery and multi-coloured roofs. The trip includes\u00a0 a private tour of the unusual secret sites of the famous Hospices.<\/p>\n

Travelling through the night towards Provence, the train arrives in Avignon<\/a> for a visit to The Palace of the Popes and a tasting of the region\u2019s finest wines and produce. By nightfall the train is off again through picturesque landscapes to the majestic city of Carcassonne.<\/p>\n

By day 3 the train arrives in Montauban, near the picturesque Tarn River. Here red brick cobbled streets stretch out towards the Place Nationale and its water mirror.<\/p>\n

Next the\u00a0salty Atlantic air beckons and the Arcachon Basin reveals its splendours where you swap the train for\u00a0a classic pinasse boat for a trip out on the inland basin.<\/p>\n

Day 4 sees the train pull in at the\u00a0\u00a0so-called Jewel of the Atlantic, La Rochelle, on the ocean\u2019s shores. Its’ elegant medieval towers bear witness to a rich maritime past and\u00a0paved streets are alive with a friendly atmosphere, aromas of seafood mingling with the sea breeze.<\/p>\n

Le Grand Tour ends with a spectacular journey back in time at Puy du Fou<\/a>, an\u00a0historical theme park in Les Epesses, in the Pays de la Loire region of western France.\u00a0\u00a0It receives more than 2 million visitors every year, making it one of the most popular theme parks in France.<\/p>\n
