An ex-West Midlands Police call handler is due to appear in court charged with supplying Class A drugs.<\/p>\n

Alisha Iftikhar, 25, faces a charge of supplying cocaine to another under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.<\/p>\n

It followed an investigation carried out by West Midlands Police’s counter-corruption unit under the direction of the Independent Office for Police Conduct.<\/p>\n

The IOPC said it received a referral from the force in February last year.<\/p>\n

The offence was alleged to have taken place in Birmingham<\/a> between December 1, 2023 and June 4, 2024.<\/p>\n

It said the Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charge and Iftikhar was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 17.<\/p>\n

The IOPC said today, Tuesday, April 15: “A former member of West Midlands Police<\/a> staff will appear in court this week charged with supplying drugs following an investigation directed by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) Anti-Corruption Unit.<\/p>\n

“Former call handler Alisha Iftikhar, 25, is charged with supplying cocaine, a class A controlled drug, to another under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.<\/p>\n

“The offence is alleged to have taken place in Birmingham<\/a> between December 1, 2023 and June 4, 2024.<\/p>\n

“She is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 17.<\/p>\n

“An investigation was carried out by West Midlands Police Counter Corruption Unit under the IOPC\u2019s direction after we received a referral from the force in February 2024.<\/p>\n
