A man was killed after being hit by a car in a horror crash on the M60<\/a> in the early hours of Sunday morning (June 29).<\/p>\n Emergency services raced to the incident on the anti-clockwise carriageway shortly before 4am. Police said the man, a pedestrian, was struck between junctions 23 and 21.<\/p>\n The motorway was initially closed off in both directions as police and paramedics attended. The victim, a 57-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n A large closure was put in place on both sides of the carriageway throughout the day, remaining in place for 12 hours while investigation work took place.<\/p>\n The motorway later re-opened at around 4.20pm, National Highways announced. Greater Manchester Police<\/a> are now appealing for information and for witnesses to come forward.<\/p>\n A force spokesperson said: “At around 3:56am this morning Sunday 29 June 2025, a vehicle driving on junction 22 of the M60 collided with a pedestrian.<\/p>\n Join our Traffic and Travel WhatsApp group HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n “The collision caused significant injuries and the pedestrian, a 57-year-old man, sadly passed away at the scene.<\/p>\n “Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
