A ‘pop-up campsite’ was charging gig-goes an eyewatering \u00a3480 per night to camp in a garden near Heaton Park<\/a> during Oasis’ string of shows.<\/p>\n The Prestwich<\/a> home, which regularly advertises its garden on AirBnB around events at the beauty spot, asked punters to stump up more than it would cost to spend the night at luxury hotel Dakota while Oasis play on July 11.<\/p>\n In return for their near-\u00a3500 spend, Oasis fans would receive secure camping space for four guests, parking for a vehicle, and access to loos and showers, according to the listing.<\/p>\n BE HERE NOW! <\/strong>Win last-minute Oasis tickets to the Heaton Park homecoming gigs by clicking HERE<\/strong><\/a>… and join our Oasis WhatsApp group while you’re at it HERE.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n In the description on its listing, ‘superhost’ Winston wrote: “Heaton Park Festival Campsite is a pop up campsite which opens for specific events in Heaton Park.<\/p>\n “It provides a safe and comfortable space for guests to camp, right by the side of Heaton Park. The site is located within a secure walled garden of an 18th century Old Vicarage.<\/p>\n “Access to the festival is approximately 10 minutes walk from the camp site. The price paid includes: Secure camping space for 4 guests (4 person tent provided by the guest), Secure parking for 1 vehicle, Posh loos, Shower.”<\/p>\n AirBnB later confirmed the listing had been removed from the platform ‘in line with their policies’ and was no longer available to book.<\/p>\n The booking website said the average price of nights booked across all of the Oasis tour dates in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin is around \u00a3200 per night on average – a stark contrast to the \u00a3480 offered by the ‘campsite’.<\/p>\n Hosts of AirBnB rentals also determine and set their prices themselves, which must be agreed to by guests before they book.<\/p>\n The Gallagher brothers are returning to Heaton Park on Friday 11, Saturday 12, Wednesday 16, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July.<\/p>\n It comes after Research by Wonderwallets, part of the Barclays Consumer Spend report, revealed that fans of the Manchester-born band are expected to shell out more than \u00a31bn of the reunion tour including tickets, travel, accommodation and merchandise.<\/p>\n The data predicts each individual gig-goer will spend around \u00a3800 to attend the historic concerts.<\/p>\n —<\/p>\n Day in day out, our reporters in the Manchester Evening News newsroom bring you remarkable stories from all aspects of Mancunian life.
