to Labour and Tories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Reform UK are set to make major gains in several London boroughs, with one expert giving his take on exactly where Nigel Farage can target in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Despite popularity for Reform being lower in London than the rest of the UK, a higher share of voters said they would consider voting for Reform in the future, according to new polling.<\/p>\n<p>The recently formed party has seen significant gains in the capital, with Alex Wilson being elected as its first London Assembly member in May last year.<\/p>\n<p>The party&#8217;s continued surge resulted in Kent County Council, located not far from London, turning from a longtime blue to turquoise.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"d3d1c\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"89cdfd24a79101668cf8518068cfa1fc\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%205440%203624'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1751221452_809_nigel-farage.jpg\" width=\"5440\" height=\"3624\" alt=\"Nigel Farage\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Reform UK are set to make major gains in several London boroughs<\/p>\n<p>PA<\/p>\n<p>Across Britain, Nigel Farage&#8217;s Reform had the third-highest vote share in the country at the 2024 election, gaining half a million more votes than the Liberal Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>Polling indicates that support for the political movement, which stood at 14 per cent at the General Election, is continuing to surge.<\/p>\n<p>London politics expert Prof Tony Travers told the Politics London programme that the party &#8220;could do very well indeed in some of the outer London boroughs, particularly I would say those that voted Leave in the Brexit referendum, so Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Bexley, Hillingdon, even Sutton&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>He added: &#8220;Those are the places I think they could well do a lot of damage to the incumbent parties.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"8df17\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"9d7c360b0fa2fc6f01fb614cd815de9f\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%201200%20800'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/map-of-london.png\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" alt=\"Map of London\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The recently formed party has seen significant gains in the capital<\/p>\n<p>GB NEWS<\/p>\n<p>                Barking &amp; Dagenham<\/p>\n<p>Barking &amp; Dagenham is divided into two constituencies with each Reform coming in second place in both.<\/p>\n<p>Labour backbencher Nesil Caliskan secured the Barking seat in the 2024 election, defeating the Reform candidate by over 30 per cent of the vote.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the large margin, support for the MP plummeted 16 per cent whilst the share change for the turquoise party soared over seven per cent.<\/p>\n<p>While a gap of over 10,000 votes separates the rival parties, Reforms&#8217; growing momentum makes the constituency a top target for Farage and his party.<\/p>\n<p>The result was similarly reflected in the Dagenham and Rainham seat where Labour&#8217;s Margaret Mullane defeated Reform&#8217;s Kevin Godfrey by 18 per cent of the vote. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Barking 2024 General Election result:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nesil Caliskan &#8211; Upminster and Romford.<\/p>\n<p>Tory MP Andrew Rosindell held the Romford seat despite a 30 per cent drop in voter share in an election where the party lost 251 of its seats across Britain.<\/p>\n<p>Nigel Farage&#8217;s party leapfrogged into contention, gaining over a fifth of the total vote.<\/p>\n<p>Over in Hornchurch &amp; Upminster, Reform surged into second place but were narrowly pipped to the post by the Conservatives&#8217; Julia Louise Lopez.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Romford 2024 General Election result:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Andrew Rosindell &#8211; Conservative &#8211; 15,260<\/li>\n<li>Nick Palmer &#8211; Reform UK &#8211; 13,317<\/li>\n<li>Sunny Brar &#8211; Labour  -12,939<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>                Hillingdon<\/p>\n<p>Hillingdon is divided into three parliamentary seats &#8211; Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner; Hayes and Harlington; and Uxbridge and South Ruislip.<\/p>\n<p>Reform UK sat in second or third place in all three 2024 elections.<\/p>\n<p>In Uxbridge and South Ruislip, the biggest gainer was Nigel Farage&#8217;s party, increasing their share of the vote by 14.4 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The Conservatives lost 17.7 per cent of their share, losing the seat to Labour despite Keir Starmer&#8217;s party decreasing their vote share. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner 2024 General Election result:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>David Timothy Simmonds &#8211; Sutton &amp; Cheam and Carshalton &amp; Wallington &#8211; both won by the Lib Dems in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The previously Conservative-held constituency of Sutton &amp; Cheam in south London saw the Tories fall 21.1 per cent, with Reform profiting the most with a 12.2 per cent rise. <\/p>\n<p>The marginal seat has frequently flipped between electing Conservative and Liberal\/Liberal Democrat candidates since 1970, but now could face the turquoise tidal wave. <\/p>\n<p>An estimated 51.28 per cent of local adults voting in the EU membership referendum chose to leave the European Union instead of to remain.<\/p>\n<p>Carshalton &amp; Wallington was also a yellow wash, bringing in just shy of double the second-place result.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sutton &amp; Cheam 2024 General Election result:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Luke Taylor &#8211; Conservatives &#8211; 12,221<\/li>\n<li>Hersh Thaker &#8211; Labour Party &#8211; 6,108<\/li>\n<li>Elizabeth Cooper &#8211; Reform UK &#8211; 5,941<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>                Bexley<\/p>\n<p>Farage&#8217;s reform will be eyeing up a seat on the Thames despite coming third both parliamentary elections in Bexleyheath &amp; Crayford and Old Bexley &amp; Sidcup.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Bright gained nearly a quarter of the vote in Bexleyheath &amp; Crayford, rivalling both the Labour and Conservative candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Brexiteers showed their support for UKIP in 2015, handing over 20 per cent to the Eurosceptic party.<\/p>\n<p>Over in Old Bexley and Sidcup, there was slightly more to celebrate with Reform UK passing the 10,000 milestone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bexleyheath &amp;
