Former Liverpool and England ace Paul Ince has been charged with drink driving. The 57-year-old ex-midfielder crashed his Range Rover into the central reservation near Neston, in Cheshire, on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
Police attended the scene and arrested him, later charging him with drink driving. He is set to appear before Chester Magistrates next month.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police told the Daily Mail: “At around 5pm on Saturday 28 June, police were called following reports of a collision on Chester High Road, Neston.<\/p>\n

Officers attended the scene and arrested a 57-year-old man,” reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Paul Ince, of Neston, has since been charged with drink driving. Ince has been bailed to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 18 July.”<\/p>\n The crash occurred near Heswall Golf Club – a location where Ince has previously posted pictures from on Instagram.<\/p>\n Ince played for West Ham, Manchester United<\/a>, Inter Milan, Liverpool<\/a>, Middlesbrough and Wolves during an illustrious career spanning from 1986 to 2007.<\/p>\n His most successful stint as a player was at United, where he bagged two Premier League<\/a> titles, two FA Cups and the League Cup<\/a> under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.<\/p>\n Ince earned 53 caps for England, playing at Euro 1996, the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 and was the first black man to captain the Three Lions.<\/p>\n Following his retirement, he ventured into management, leading teams such as Macclesfield, MK Dons, Blackburn, Notts County, Blackpool and Reading.<\/p>\n He departed from his last role at Reading in 2023 and has been without a club since then.
