Deontay Wilder returned to the win column on Friday night as the \u2018Bronze Bomber\u2019 added yet another stoppage to his resume. <\/strong><\/p>\n

A seventh-round TKO win over Tyrrell Herndon<\/a> was Wilder\u2019s<\/a> first victory since 2022, as he improved his record to 44-4-1. <\/p>\n

Bouncing back from losses to Joseph Parker<\/a> and Zhilei Zhang<\/a>, Wilder\u2019s 43rd career knockout was an important one to reboot his confidence. <\/p>\n

However, it was not a completely smooth week for Wilder, who split with now-former coach Malik Scott<\/a> just days out from his comeback fight. <\/p>\n

News emerged just days out from Wilder\u2019s headline comeback that he would no longer be training under Scott for his upcoming bout. <\/p>\n

Scott, who is a former opponent of Wilder\u2019s<\/a>, was a member of the former champion\u2019s team since 2014, but will no longer be in the American\u2019s corner. <\/p>\n

While present at the Jake Paul<\/a> vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.<\/a> fight, Scott was asked by Seconds Out on the break away from Wilder. <\/p>\n

The former coach said that Wilder had a \u2018good fight for his return\u2019, but feels he needs \u2018one or two more of those\u2019, concerning steps away from top heavyweight contenders. \u201cWe\u2019ll see how things go for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott was then asked if he felt he got all he could out of the knockout artist. The response from the American was, \u201cNo comment. I love Deontay, he\u2019s my brother, and I\u2019m proud of what he did last night.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Scott was then asked by Seconds Out if Anthony Joshua<\/a> would be a good potential opponent for Wilder<\/a> in his next fight. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if it\u2019s next for him,\u201d Scott said. \u201cI\u2019m happy where he\u2019s at right now. He\u2019s had one fight back. Let\u2019s let him continue to build, and then he\u2019ll get to those big fights.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joshua is expected to return in 2025 as he is yet to compete since his 2025 loss to Daniel Dubois<\/a>.
